It is amazing what a little retail therapy, sightseeing, cooler weather and Aleve do for a person. I found a quilt shop, G purchased some excellent dark beer and K has had a lot of green fields to chase his ball. Last night we were in Winterset, Iowa, John Wayne's birthplace (did you know he weighed 13 lbs. at birth?). It is also where the "Bridges of Madison County" was filmed.

IT'S HOT!!!!! It's been 100+ degrees since we left. Not much to take a picture of yet. Everything is brown and the sky is hazy. Temps are supposed to lower this weekend, but hurricane Irene is headed for the east coast. We may have to hold up somewhere......somewhere with a pool!!!
